WHY MODULAR?

mount airy north carolina modular home builders, custom built homes, residential builder, nc home builders

Modular homes are built in a factory environment with the same skilled craftsmen performing the same job each and every day. While your home is being built in a controlled environment, your materials and ‘systems' are also kept in a controlled environment, not left out on the job site to be ‘weathered' or stolen before your home is ever assembled! Quality-control inspections are conducted throughout the building process...not just at the final walk-through when you are handed the key to your new home!

If you choose a modular-built home, you will move into your home sooner than if it is traditional site-built construction. And TIME IS MONEY. A modular home is built in about 1/3 the time that a traditional site-built home would take. First of all, there are no weather delays when your home is built in a controlled environment. Modular home construction continues year around. Materials for your home are purchased in bulk and the savings are passed on to you. These materials are kept in a controlled environment so there is less waste or spoilage or theft.

A modular homebuilder takes the same systems and materials used by a traditional ‘site builder' and assembles your home in several large sections, inside a controlled environment. These sections are then delivered to your home site about 90% complete most every traditional site builder today is purchasing pre -assembled electrical SYSTEMS, plumbing SYSTEMS, rafter-and- truss SYSTEMS which are delivered to a home site where a construction crew assembles these, along with other components, to create a new home for you.

General misconceptions keep many from considering going modular, and the confusion between modular homes and manufactured (mobile) homes has led to regulations and restrictions being placed by towns that have new home builders scared into going the traditional route. But the word is getting out. It turns out modular homes are in many ways superior to stick-built homes, and, once assembled, cannot be distinguished from their traditionally built counterpart.  Simply put, a modular home is one that is built in a factory, and then transported to a site in large units. These units are then lifted from the transport by crane and rested on a pre-built foundation and fastened together. The entire process takes a fraction of the time it takes to build a house on-site, and the finished product can cost a good deal less.

Modular homes today can be built to most any specification and any size. From a simple one-and-a-half split-level ranch to a grand, three-bath, 3000+ square foot two story — the industry has it covered. And any amenity one can think of can be included. Think whirlpool bath in the master suite, granite counter tops in the kitchen, or even structured wiring in every room. Simply put, modular building is the best choice!
